Take a closer look at another incredible collection of pieces featured in this year’s Bealtaine Exhibition!
Early this year, visual artists Sharon dipity and Emma Scully, worked with residents of Silverwood, Clonakilty Community Hospital. As the project took place in January, the group were inspired by New Years Resolutions. Four poems around transformation introduced the theme.
Firstly, participants created dynamic compositions in collage with coloured and patterned paper, before creating the montage pieces. The montages were created by leafing through magazines for interesting images to juxtapose in the creation of new pieces. Other media and techniques were introduced to enhance the artworks including oil pastels, paint, printmaking, stencilling and stamping.
Transformative Explorations in Montage is on display at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre until 31 May.
