We had little but we had love

We had little but we had love, a beautiful artwork and poetry booklet created by Arts for Health participants at Clonakilty Community Hospital, is on display at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre as part of Bealtaine’s 30th Anniversary celebrations.

The project evolved from inspirational conversations and making between residents and visual artists Sarah Ruttle and Sharon dipity. Working collaboratively, the group explored ideas around the murmuration of starlings, their movement and elegant coordination, and its similarities to the waltzes and dances experienced across the dance halls of West Cork.

Participants drew with feathers and ink, and conversations developed into poetry writing. The final works came together in this small book, capturing the beauty and depth of conversations shared throughout the project. To read more about the work, visit the We had little but we had love project page.

This year’s Bealtaine Exhibition is on display at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre until Saturday 31 May. Call in to see some of the incredible projects that took place on the Arts for Health programme over the last year.
