We are celebrating National Carers Week! #MakingCaringVisible
Running from Monday 9 to Sunday 15 June, the organiser’s objectives of the week are three-fold:
- To raise awareness of family carers in our community
- To deliver both online and face-to-face events for family carers throughout the country
- To engage with family carers not yet availing of carer support services
Events are taking place across the country all week. To name just a few in West Cork, there will be a morning of meditation in Allihies, a guided tour of the beautiful Bantry House and Gardens with lunch, an art therapy workshop in Dunmanway, and free massages in Skibbereen. For more information on all of these events and more, please visit the Carers Week website.
Creative Carers
The Arts for Health Creative Carers programme is for anyone who looks after a family member in the home or through a care setting. It offers a range of creative workshops for learning new skills, meeting people, connecting with services and peer support. Workshops are facilitated by our team of professional artists, and organised in partnership with Family Carers and Older Person’s Development workers.
Find dates for upcoming workshops in Clonakilty, Skibbereen, Ballydehob, and Bantry on our Creative Carers webpage.
If you are interested in learning more about the programme, please feel free to contact us at artsforhealth@westcorkartscentre.com with any questions big or small!
