Favourite Things is a new collection of embroidery artworks created by residents at Skibbereen Community Hospital with artist Sharon Dipity.
Arts for Health participants at the West Cork community hospital worked collaboratively with Sharon to make this series of delicate and distinctive embroidery works. The pieces were inspired by conversations around favourite things. Beginning by working on collages, the group then traced or drew freehand onto muslin cloth with fabric pens.
To embellish the work, participants stitched embroidery silks and wool into each piece.
Favourite Things is on display at Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre as part of our Bealtaine Festival exhibition. The exhibition is running from 1 – 31 May 2024.
