Carer Events

Since the addition of Creative Carers to the Arts for Health programme, the administration and artist teams have endeavoured to host annual celebrations for and with the wonderful family carer participants. These special events are moments for participants from different areas across West Cork to meet, spend an afternoon together, try a couple of creative activities, and relax!
New Year Tea Party
In January 2024, we celebrated family carers at our New Year Tea Party!
The afternoon recognised the commitment, openness, and creativity, of all the family carers who participated in the programme during 2023. Held in DeBarras, Clonakilty, the party was a warm and welcoming event for family carers, friends, family, and artists to gather together, enjoy a cup of tea and freshly baked scone, and relax for the afternoon.
One Year of Creative Carers!
St Bridgid’s Day 2023 was marked by a special event to celebrate the first year of the Creative Carers Programme. Artists Justin Grounds and Sarah Ruttle organised a celebratory evening in Debarra’s Folk Club, Clonakilty with live performances by musicians Lewis Barfoot, Eva Coyle and Liz Clark, fun creative activities and nibbles for all to enjoy.
The event was attended by Creative Carers participants, members of the Arts for Health artists and administrative teams, and West Cork health care professionals from Community Hospitals and Day Care Centres. It was a joyous evening of music, conversation, poetry and polaroids!
