Bealtaine Highlights 2025!

And that’s a wrap on Bealtaine 2025!

What an absolutely incredible month celebrating the arts and creativity as we age in West Cork. A huge thank you to everyone involved – for sharing your work, facilitating workshops, visitng exhibitions, and being part of Bealtaine’s special 30th Anniversary celebration!

There’s been some fantastic moments this year. To name only a few,

  • The  Bealtaine Exhibition at Uillinn showcased some of the amazing Arts for Health projects that took place over the last year, as well as a lovely new series of works from Arts for an Active Mind
  • Uillinn West Cork Arts Centre hosted the wonderful Bernie Masterson as Uillinn/Cork County Council Bealtaine Artist in Residence
  • Skibberen Community Hospital Residents headed to Fastnet Film Festival to watch their short film ‘The Town That Has Nurtured My Dreams’ on the big screen
  • In Dunmanway, participants at the Day Care Centre held an event to launch their story and artwork short film ‘Take Me To The River’
  • Sarah Ruttle hosted ‘In The Picture – On Tour’ at Bantry Memory Café, with artwork kindly shared by Sonia Caldwell
  • Participants in Bantry Day Care Centre created a beautiful Bealtaine display for Bantry Library

And throughout, our brilliant team of artists continued to facilitate creativity in healthcare settings across West Cork. Take a look back through our social media and News web posts to read more about what took place throughout the festival. We’re looking forward to next year already!
