“What am I gonna do?” : An illustrated children’s audio and storybook about a little boy Pádraig and his friend Ciarán and their adventures in the fishing village of Castletownbere in the South West of Ireland. The book will be launched at the hospital on Thursday 21 February, 2pm with a musical celebration and readings from local young people.
Created by the residents and staff in Castletownbere Community Hospital with artists Mailo Haas and Sharon Dipity the limited edition run of books came about through an idea of the project by Mailo in her weekly musical workshops with the residents. Mialo describes, ‘I wanted to nurture the bond between young and older people, especially during family visits.’
Mailo collaborated with Sharon Dipity who is also working with the residents weekly, exploring visual arts, to illustrate the story.
Mailo Haas is an Musician on the Arts for Health Partnership Programme and has been resident in the Hospital for nearly one year. Sharon Dipity is also an Artist on the Arts for Health Partnership Programme.
