Artist Toma McCullim, dancer Dee Cotter ,violinist Dolcie Ross Keogh and Arts for Health Programme at Uillinn West Cork Art Centre bring ‘Motherland’ as part of Culture Night 2019.
Residents and staff of Schull Community Hospital invites family and special guests, to create ‘Motherland’, a multi sensory performance which weaves film, dance and music.
‘Motherland’ is a collective performance piece which invites a collective of people, connected to Schull Community Hospital, to weave together a dream of the far shore. The multi-sensory performance uses film projection, a silk cloth painted by residents, flowers, shells and seaweeds and has its audience join together in costume. Staff leave their ordinary uniforms behind to come together in movement and voice. We join in a lullaby and a lament together.
