Arts for Health Partnership reveals exciting plans for the next three years

The Arts for Health Partnership invites residents, staff and families to celebrate the launch of a new website and their second three year Strategic Plan 2017 – 2020 on Friday 24 November 2017 at 2:00pm at Dunmanway Community Hospital.

This special occasion will include a welcome address by the Mayor of the County of Cork, Cllr Declan Hurley, followed by our host and current Chairperson of Arts for Health Partnership, West Cork, Theresa Healy Kingston, Acting Director of Nursing. Special guest speakers from both sectors of health and arts, Gabrielle O’Keeffe, Head of Social Care, Cork and Kerry Community Healthcare and Ann O’Connor, Arts Participation Advisor, Arts Council, and a presentation by the Minister of State for Mental Health and Older People Jim Daly TD to officially launch the strategy and website.

Refreshments will be followed by a performance of original music with artists Fiona Kelleher and Liz Clark, a short film screening and tour of artwork on exhibit with Justine Foster, Arts for Health Programme Manager

About Arts for Health

Arts for Health Partnership Programme is based in West Cork and provides a managed and integrated arts programme for older people in healthcare settings. Managed by West Cork Arts Centre, Arts for Health runs all year round and is delivered by a team of professional artists from different disciplines. It takes place in five Community Hospitals, Bantry General Hospital Care of the Elderly Unit and five Day Care Centres. The partners comprise West Cork Arts Centre, Cork County Council, Cork Education & Training Board and the HSE. The HSE is represented through the Cork Arts + Health Programme, the Communications Department, Nursing Directors of Community Hospitals West Cork and the Day Care Centres of West Cork.
